It is obviously highly stressful coming to the end of a PhD and frankly a nightmare that the entire document is crashing, even when I break it up into ever-smaller parts. I understand from what you've said that this may not be the 'fault' of Zotero but it is certainly happening because of it. I literally only have to click on a citation and the whole thing crashes. It's obvious to me that whether or not Zotero or Word is to 'blame', the problem is occurring directly in relation to Zotero citations. But it seems to me that an add-in which is supposed to work in Word but is not currently working for me in Word - is not beyond the realms of what I might seek advice for. I'm sorry my IT lingo/understanding is not up to scratch. It also crashes when I just click on a citation in the document (where it becomes highlighted). It crashes when I try to move a sentence containing a citation (but not when I move sentences without citations). It crashes when I try (and fail) to insert a zotero citation. I have had a shorter document (on your advice) crash about 8 times in the last hour. This is a nightmare actually at this stage of things and I would really appreciate if someone can just talk me through what to do. Whereas previously I couldn't add in a new citation, now the whole word doc is crashing - even when I'm just copying and pasting a paragraph with a reference in it. I have amended some references in the text rather than deleting them and starting again and I realise this has probably created broken links. To export your EndNote library for use in Zotero, click "File" and then "Export." Set the output style to "RefMan (RIS) Export" and save it as a text file. Set Import Option to "Reference Manager (RIS)" and click Import. In EndNote, click "File" and then "Import." Click the "Choose File" button and select the file you just exported from Zotero. PDFs and other attachments do not export between programs, however only citation information.
